Natasha Rothwell Teases Exciting New Season of 'The White Lotus'

Natasha Rothwell, known for her role as Belinda Lindsey in the first season of the acclaimed series 'The White Lotus,' has given fans a glimpse into the upcoming third season of the show. Rothwell, who is the only confirmed cast member for the new season so far, expressed her excitement in a recent interview  hinting at surprising plot twists that left her astounded.

In 'The White Lotus,' a Golden Globe-winning black comedy-drama created by Mike White, Rothwell portrayed the character of spa manager and aspiring entrepreneur Belinda Lindsey. Her last appearance in the show saw her character being let down by the wealthy and unpredictable Tanya McQuoid, played by Jennifer Coolidge.

Discussing the upcoming season, Rothwell urged fans to "buckle up" for what promises to be a wild ride. She revealed that upon reading the initial script, she found herself gasping in surprise multiple times, highlighting the skill and storytelling prowess of the show's creator, Mike White, who she described as a master in weaving smart and entertaining narratives.

Rothwell praised White for his collaborative approach, especially regarding her character, Belinda. She shared that White values her feedback and strives for authenticity in portraying Belinda's point of view, acknowledging perspectives that he himself might not possess. This collaborative spirit, she noted, adds depth and realism to the character and the show overall.

'The White Lotus,' which debuted on HBO in 2021, quickly gained widespread acclaim and a strong fan following. Its first season featured a star-studded cast, including Sydney Sweeney, Connie Britton, and Molly Shannon, with memorable performances like Lukas Gage's scene with Murray Bartlett. The second season, aired at the end of 2022, continued the trend with a cast that included Aubrey Plaza, Adam DiMarco, Meghann Fahy, Will Sharpe, and Theo James. The series has amassed over 40 awards in just two years.

Production delays due to the actors' strike have pushed the premiere of the third season to 2025, with filming set to take place in Thailand in 2024. White has promised that the upcoming season will be "longer, bigger, crazier" than its predecessors.
