What is your sexual orientation?
This sexual orientation test is based on the sexuality scale developed in 1980 by Michael Storms, a psychologist at the University of Kansas. When working on his research regarding the influence of erotic fantasies on sexual preferences in humans, the scientist has discovered that bisexual individuals can be attracted to partners of the opposite sex as much as straight people.
He also found out that bisexuals have fantasies about same-sex partners as much as lesbian women and gay men. Having come to these conclusions, Storms observed that the Kinsey scale was inaccurate; he then went on to propose his own sexuality scale - The Storms Sexuality Axis.
Sexual orientation test
This new sexuality scale by Michael Storms uses an X and Y axis. Hetero- and homo-eroticism are placed on two perpendicular axes, which allows determining the level of attraction more accurately for both scales. Since the Kinsey scale has two “poles”, it is pretty limiting. Storms also proposed the possibility to distinguish between bisexuality and asexuality, which was insufficiently implemented in the Kinsey scale.
